How far is Agriturismo Boschi di Montecalvi from the beach? Approximately 15 minutes by car. You can go there even for a one hour picnic or for running on the beach, and so on . From our Agriturismo we see Punta Ala. Our beaches are beautiful being free,natural, long and of fine sand.

How do we get to Agriturismo Boschi di Montecalvi?   See on the menu LOCATION. The Google map in the menu should help you. Most of our guests arrive by car but if you come by plane in Pisa  you can rent a car there. The railway station is in Campiglia Marittima, a ten minutes drive from the Agriturismo.

At what time should we arrive at Montecalvi?  Between 4 and 7 pm. The apartment must be free by 10 am. For the arrivals after the check-in ( 16.00 / 19.00) please contact the direction for accords.

May I rent a car?  Only 4 Km: you can walk or go by  bicycle (we rent them in the Agriturismo) or by car.

How far is Suvereto?  L’Agriturismo Boschi di Montecalvi   dista  circa 4 km dal paese di Suvereto. Volendo, è possibile anche raggiungere il paese a piedi in 30 - 40minuti  o in bicicletta con cambio (le affittiamo noi stessi).

What can you find in Suvereto?  Suvereto is a beautiful medieval village (one of the 20 Yellow Flags in Tuscany, chosen by the Italian Touring Club) with modern services.   In Venturina (10 minutes drive) you find a modern shopping center.   Visit www.suvereto.net

Where are the open air and bargain  markets ?

Are there restaurants  in agriturismo and in Suvereto?  We will offer a full service restaurant by spring, 2008.  Other restaurants are in Suvereto (4 km), with a good choice of tastes and tipical places.

How far is Suvereto from the world famous art Cities?   Suvereto is 1 and a half hour drive from Florence, 45 minutes from Pisa, one hour from Montalcino, Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca, 2 and a half hour from Rome.

How can we play sport?   We have a gorgeous swimming pool 18m x 8 m for swimming. You can rent a bicycle of good quality for panoramic rides.   If required we can provide tutoring  by an expert (let us know).   Thanks to a net of trails you can go trekking right from your doorstep. From the top of Montecalvi you can enjoy a magnificent view from Livorno to Argentario.  If you like horse riding you have a choice of opportunities.  By the sea  (15 minutes away) you can rent boats,  practice scuba diving  and all kinds of water sports.

Can we play golf?   Yes, in Punta Ala there is a magnificent 18 holes field.

Is there an internet point in the Agriturismo? In Agriturismo we can help you downloading and sending personal mail with wireless connectivity. Internet points are available in Suvereto.

Is there an emergency  medical service?  Yes in Venturina and San Vincenzo, beside private medical doctors, dentists, drug stores.

Is the Agriturismo in a panoramic position?  Yes. We see from our hills the sea and the landscape of Maremma towards Punta Ala and the Island of Giglio.

How is the area around?  It is nature, woods and organic farming. We are in the middle of our property of 45 hectars with olives, woods and chestnut grove.   All is surrounded by hills covered of mediterranean evergreen forests to the top of Montecalvi and the Metalliferous hills..   We breed goats, cinta senese pigs, geese,sheep and few cows.  Our area is of interest for mushrooms, wild flowers and berries and gives hospitality to roe-deers, wild boars, foxes.   From march to june  (and in October) we see an incredible carpet of flowers in the woods (sowbreads, periwinkles, anemones and many others)

Are there houses nearby?  No, we are in an isolated spot in the countryside and there are only three houses. The nearby closest house is 800 metres  away and is home to an old time farmer that is worth getting to know.

Are there mosquitoes?  No, we never see one.  But our windows have all mosquito nets to let you  keep your windows wide open in the evening without moths to disturb you, attracted by lights in the surrounding dark

Is the swimming pool always open? Yes, from May to September.

What will we find in our apartment?  You will find a bottle of good wine   and one of drinking water.   In the rooms you will also find your bed linen and bathroom towels.  Bathrooms are also provided with toilet paper.

Is there a washing machine? Yes.  And a laundry service is available upon request.

Is there a cleaning service during the week?  No, cleaning is done when the new guests arrive.  We ask you to leave the apartment in good order.  If necessary,  you can ask for further cleaning at the cost of 12 Euros an hour.

Is it available an extra change of bed and bathroom linen?   Yes, with a little extra cost.

Can we buy some of your products  (olive oil, wine, ham, meats)?  Yes, you can taste  some of our typical products,  local and Tuscan produce.  We also rear barnyard animals, geese and  we produce cinta senese pork, kid, lamb, Chianina t-bone steak that are checked at the abattoir.

Are the owners present in the agriturismo?  Carla Maria Russo does  not live always in Montecalvi. She is a writer of novels that has good success and this takes her all around Italy. She spends part of her time in Milano.  Her helper lives permanently in Montecalvi. In agriturismo we have most of the novels she’s written. “ La Sposa Normanna” has been translated in German.

What shall I bring with me?  A spray for pests if you are particularly sensitive (we do not have mosquitoes, though).  Breeze keeps us mostly free from any kind of annoying pests.     Bring your preferred books to read in the peace of Montealvi.  Bring also everything for trekking, cycling, tennis  and golf  together with your scuba diving equipment.  Bring the address of your friends: we will provide you for free  with our postcards.    And... eagerness to know the beauty and  history of these magic places
